The original purpose of my blog was to let my family know what I'm up to, since they all live in Idaho and I don't. I also wanted to give them some idea of who I was when I wasn't with them. For some reason, when I'm in my parents' house I turn into the kid I was in high school...anyone else have that problem??? Anyway, I wanted to reassure my family that I'm capable of acting like a grown-up when the situation calls for it.

I also started the blog because I was having lots of fun reading my friends' blogs and getting to know them better. There are so many things I never knew about people! I wanted to be part of the blog club. My blog reflects my relationship with others: usually it's light, easy, not too serious, without much drama.
So the question I've been asking myself is if my blog should become something more. To me, it sounds a little repetitive: I went hiking and/or I went on a trip somewhere. But like everyone else, most of my life is pretty mundane and I assume people don't want to hear about it. (My friend Wendy can make a trip to the grocery store sound fun, exciting, and often hilarious, but I don't have the same gifts she does.) On the other hand, I love it when my friends and family write about the minutiae of everyday life in their blogs because I love to get those glimpses into their lives. I'll have to decide if this blog should have a focus or if it should just be more of my rambling about myself.
Lately there hasn't been much happening here. I moved into a bedroom into my friend Liz's house, so now I don't have to clean house or take care of repairs or anything anymore. I haven't been part of my new ward long enough to have any responsibilities there. And, of course, I'm not working right now. It feels like my world has shrunk, but it's temporary and I'm enjoying the lull. I've been reading lots of books, catching up on craft projects, and going for long walks. I'm leaving for New Zealand and Australia this afternoon (yay!) and the lull will be over. More to come on that!

I think you should ramble about yourself, even when you think the things you do are mundane! To the rest of us they are exciting, and we feel like you do, we like to get little glimpses into your every day life. It makes me feel more "connected" :)
I agree with Dez. I really don't think your trips to India, Greece, or New Zealand are mundane. It gives a glimpse of the world and how you saw it. Travel on and blog on about it.
I love reading about all your day-to-day stuff, and all the big events, too. I know what you mean, though. Blogs are funny that way - I always feel like I'm boring, and I've never once thought that about anyone else while reading their blog.
But if you decide you need a purpose, I'll read that too. :)
