Shattered Silence

I'm going to blog about Peru eventually, I promise. But in the meantime, I want to promote this book written by a friend of mine: Shattered Silence, by Melissa Moore. I knew Melissa for years (she was actually my secretary and then second counselor in the Primary presidency) and had no idea there was anything unusual in her past. I was shocked, then, when she told me that her father had been a serial killer!

Melissa wrote about her journey from a troubled childhood and adolescence to the woman she is today: a wonderful wife and mother, good friend, a strong member of the church, and thoroughly remarkable person. It was inspiring to see how a person without clear role models could find the internal strength to overcome her past and find a better life.

Wow! Didn't even know she was writing a book. Didn't even know about her past. Thanks for sharing!

It gives you hope for your future, doesn't it? I have something to tell you about Dad....NOT. I would love to read it. Is it at Barnes and Noble?
