These are some more pictures from The Bad, Bad Snow of 2008-09. Here's a typical house. There's nowhere left to put the snow!
This looks like just a pile of snow, but if you look closely you can see a board sticking up. That's a bench. This is my bus stop. Looks very accessible, doesn't it? Meanwhile, I'm standing in the middle of the street waiting for my bus, hoping nobody kills me. (But I still prefer riding the bus to driving.)
And these unfortunate souls are removing snow from the tops of buildings. By last Friday, 28 flat-roofed commercial buildings in the city had collapsed. I know a few more buildings collapsed over the weekend, so I don't know what the total is now. We've lost grocery stores, exercise facilities, the main building at the fairgrounds, a few strip malls, a school, and several churches. A furniture store near where I live collapsed on Saturday and took the adjacent strip mall down with it. (By the way, I work in a flat-roofed building...)
(Just a side note. I understand how the weight of six feet of snow on the top of a flat roof can cause a problem. Wouldn't you think adding the weight of 30 people to that six feet of snow would cause an even bigger problem? Just saying.)

Man, Heidi, I don't know how you do it, but you make me laugh when dealing with your issues of snow! I know I'm not living in it, so I can easily have the sense of humor. You on the other hand, good work on creating the giggle in my readings. I can't believe the craziness of the snow. Thanks for posting familiar parts of my home town. It is simply unbelievable.
Oh my gosh! I'm so glad there isn't 76 inches of snow in Idaho! :) BTW, I agree, I'm so sorry that the snow has caused all these problems, but your last little paragraph just kills me! Rolling on the floor laughing killing me!
