I had to do this in Facebook, because I got tagged and my sister-in-law Courtney says if you get tagged and don't obey instructions, bad things can happen. So then I decided to re-post the survey thing here because it means I don't have to think of anything else to blog about!
25 Random Things About Me (in case any of you wanted to know)
1. I like to listen to audiobooks while I work. Somehow they keep me focused. Music doesn't work, it has to be audiobooks.
2. My current favorite musical is Wicked.
3. For years, I've had a recurring dream of messing up horribly while playing the organ (to the point where the chorister tells me to quit playing and the congregation sings a capella).
4. My favorite job ever was when I was a radio announcer on KRIC-FM in college.
5. I've been lost so many times that I've developed an immunity. I grew a compass in my head and I don't get lost anymore.
6. I've been to every state except Hawaii. Some day I'll go there too, just to be able to say I've been to every state. ;-)
7. I have a special talent for stumbling across used bookstores in unfamiliar towns. That's where the compass in my head usually leads me.

8. I hate driving. I hate it so much that I got rid of my car.
9. I'm retiring at 40. Yes, really.
10. I have trouble focusing on movies made recently (I tend to wander off in the middle), but I can get completely absorbed in old black-and-white movies.
11. I used to think I was cursed because every company I worked for went bankrupt, or got bought out, or just decided to lay off the whole department.
12. Luckily, my current company seems stable, at least so far. I've been at the same job for 3.5 years, which is a record for me!
13. I believe in karma.
14. If I wasn't Mormon, I'd be a Buddhist. I'm kind of a Mormon Buddhist as it is.
15. I have 4 brothers, 4 sisters-in-law, 4 nephews, and 4 nieces.
16. My biggest pet peeve is when people tell me how sad they are that I "haven't had the opportunity to get married (or stay married!) and have a family." Seriously, do people really think that single women never had the "opportunity"? Do those busybodies really think I'm so unattractive that I never caught a man's eye, or do they think that marriage is so wonderful that any opportunity to partake should automatically be accepted? (Note: I'm not anti-marriage. Don't give me a lecture. Yes, I mean you.)
17. I'm naturally a morning person and an early riser, and I haven't used an alarm clock in years. I start falling asleep at 8:00 p.m., though. It's a trade-off.

18. I avoided teaching piano lessons for years until a cute little 8-year-old begged and begged until I finally gave in. Now I like it.
19. I hate snow. I used to be ambivalent towards it, but then I moved to Spokane.
20. I knew nothing about football until my brother talked me into joining our family's fantasy football league. Then my competitive instincts kicked in, and I learned all about football. ;-)

21. The day the Giants won the Super Bowl was one of the best days of my life.
22. Every time I eat chocolate I get the flu or something like it: fever, chills, swollen glands...

23. My favorite part of London was seeing Platform 9 3/4.
24. In nine years and five jobs, I've only worked directly with one other woman. What is it with women not becoming engineers?
25. My dream job would be one of those people who tests all the tasks on The Amazing Race, without actually having to be on TV.

I like it! Thanks for sharing your random stuff! And for not tagging me:) because I'm bad at tags!
And who got that wonderful car when you got rid of it? It was me of course, the brother who was always so nice to you.
So are you allergic to chocolate or what?
Every time you post one of these things I wonder how on earth we can be friends! Morning person, hates driving, no chocolate, retiring early, loves to travel.... It's like we have nothing in common. ;)
Oh, on the contrary, I didn't say you had to answer the tag, I never do the tags! I think it might be Megann who said it because she does tags quite often. I say if you DO the tag, bag things can happen to you...:)JUst kidding, I just don't like to do them.
I think we are going to try and come up during Spring Break, that is the last week in March for us. Just an FYI, we are excited to see you and my family!
Hello, this is Amanda P from the ward and book club. I stumbled onto you blog from the Reichs, I hope you don't mind. Anyways, it was great to read your facts and I can totally relate about to your fear of playing the organ and being told to stop. And the chocolate thing is weird!
